In Memory of:

Jeffrey Paul Myrick

A good friend and turkey hunting companion to many that passed away on May 17th 2010 at the age of 59.

Jeff will be greatly missed by myself and others that had the privilege to know him and call him a friend. I enjoyed many outings with Jeff over the last 10 or so years here in the Osceola National Forest of Florida and a couple in Virginia and several in South Carolina. Jeff was not any ordinary turkey hunter. He was a cut above the rest of us and could call them old toms in as good as anyone. I would anxiously await his arrival every year here in Florida at the start of turkey season usually making several trips by the camp to check and see if he had arrived. My grand-daughter Kameron always wanted to know of Jeff's arrival. She would pitch a fit until I took her to see Mr. Jeff. Below are just a few pictures taken during our outings. My family and everyone that knew Jeff will greatly miss him. Pictured below: Jeff & Kameron on our camping trip up to Jeff's cabin near Stuart, Virginia.
Second picture down  is Jeff & friends including myself & Kameron  at the cabin on top the mountain. Then Jeff and myself on the cabin porch/deck. Then Jeff & I showing the nice gobbler I harvested with the help of Jeff. My first and only Virginia tom to date. (Had a double beard). Next is the camping setup in South Carolina in the Sumter National Forest. I will surely miss seeing that two toned Ford diesel of his heading back into camp! He always had a great story to tell, and usually if Jeff for some reason did not harvest that turkey that day and the tom  managed to make it to roost, then that tom was most likely wrapping his feet around a limb for the last time! For tomorrow he was going to end up in the skillet!
